Retiring Infor SyteLine means preserving agreed historical records and usable access before removing the source application dependency. For this scenario, prioritise site context, job history and serial-number relationships. Compare required reports and documents with source evidence, test permissions and obtain business acceptance before scheduling shutdown.
This guide covers the retirement questions, a mock-data ArchiveHub demonstration and the validation work needed to define a project scope.
What keeping SyteLine read-only really costs
Cost categories are a discovery checklist, not a guaranteed savings calculation. Verify support status, deployment, shared infrastructure and contract terms for the actual installation.
- The Microsoft stack. SyteLine runs on SQL Server and Windows servers. An inquiry-only site still needs licences, patching, backups and the occasional emergency when an old server will not reboot.
- The application framework. The forms, IDOs and utility servers of Infor's Mongoose framework all have to keep working together, on versions that age out of support.
- Infor maintenance, paid for a system that no longer runs the business.
- Specialist knowledge. People who know which form to open, how a job's operations relate to its materials, and where configuration attributes live are moving on to the new platform or leaving the company.
- Security and audit access. Employee pay, vendor bank details and customer data stay on an unmaintained system, and every audit request needs a user and a guide.
Scope, versions and evidence
This is an illustrative workflow, not a customer case study. Confirm the source release, deployment, modules, customisations and extraction permissions before using the mappings below. Tables and report labels describe the demonstration catalogue; native-report equivalence has not been independently certified. Use agreed source reports and representative records for acceptance testing.
An archive is not a replacement for every operational feature of the retired ERP. Document required historical tasks, excluded functions and any archive-derived calculations.
Historical data to scope for Infor SyteLine
ArchiveHub archives SyteLine's tables with their native names, including the familiar _mst suffix, and keeps every column under its SyteLine name with a description. The site stays the organising key, as it was in SyteLine.
Representative tables:
- General ledger: ledger_mst (posted GL transactions with journal and control number), chart_mst, chart_bp_mst (budget and plan), journal_def_mst journals, journal_mst (lines entered but never posted at the cut-off), periods_mst, and dept_mst, used as accounting unit 1 on expense and labor accounts.
- Accounts payable: aptrxp_mst (vouchers, payments and discounts taken per voucher), vch_hdr_mst and vch_item_mst voucher history, appmt_mst and appmtd_mst payments and distributions, and vendor_mst and vendaddr_mst.
- Accounts receivable: artran_mst (invoices, credit memos and payments per invoice number), arpmt_mst and arpmtd_mst, and customer_mst and custaddr_mst (bill-to at sequence 0, ship-tos above it).
- Sales and invoicing: co_mst, coitem_mst, co_ship_mst, inv_hdr_mst and inv_item_mst.
- Configurator: cfg_main_mst and cfg_attr_mst, the configured product and the feature and option values chosen for each order line.
- Manufacturing: job_mst (production jobs of type J and the current/standard jobs of type S that hold an item's BOM and routing), jobmatl_mst, jobroute_mst, jobtran_mst, and wc_mst work centers.
- Inventory: item_mst, itemwhse_mst, itemloc_mst, itemcost_mst, lot_loc_mst, matltran_mst and matltran_amt_mst (the GL distribution of each material transaction).
- Serial tracking: serial_mst and matltrack_mst.
- Purchasing: po_mst, poitem_mst, po_rcpt_mst and itemvend_mst.
- Fixed assets: fa_mst, fadepr_mst, fa_hist_mst and fa_class_mst.
- Payroll: employee_mst and prtrxp_mst.
- Bank and tax: glbank_mst, bank_hdr_mst and taxcode_mst.

Source documents stay attached
Document types below illustrate the intended scope. Include source attachments and external repositories explicitly, and test retrieval and record linkage before decommissioning.
ArchiveHub keeps archived documents attached to the SyteLine records they belong to: customer invoices, order acknowledgements, job travelers, test certificates, vouchers, purchase orders, vendor files, employee records and fixed assets. A service engineer looking up a serial number can open the job traveler and test certificate of the unit that was built.
Beyond the reports
Confirm these capabilities, configuration requirements and limits during the demonstration and scope review; the report catalogue alone does not validate them.
- Ad-hoc query builder over the configured archived tables, with SyteLine column descriptions and suggested joins, for example coitem_mst to cfg_main_mst to job_mst to serial_mst.
- Retention rules and purge with approval: warranty and product records can be kept for as long as needed while financial detail follows its own rules.
- Legal hold on a product line, order or vendor involved in a claim.
- Personal-data governance: agree the lawful retention, access and deletion requirements with the responsible privacy and records teams. Product features alone do not establish regulatory compliance.
- Access controls: define and test permissions for the required companies, records and sensitive fields. Do not assume that system-level roles reproduce the original ERP permissions, particularly for payroll and HR data.
- OData feeds to Excel, Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud.
How the decommissioning project runs
- Extract the SyteLine tables from SQL Server, site by site, with native names and descriptions.
- Validate. Row counts are checked per table. Balances must tie out: the archived trial balance must agree with SyteLine's own, and A/R, A/P, accrued payables, inventory, WIP, fixed assets, bank, tax and wages must reconcile to ledger_mst.
- Parallel read access. Finance, service, purchasing and production users run their usual inquiries in ArchiveHub while SyteLine is still available.
- Retire after acceptance. Obtain documented sign-off for data reconciliation, document retrieval, user access, retention and legal holds, recovery and remaining integrations. Retire only the approved components; shared infrastructure may still be needed. End or reduce subscriptions, licences and support only where the contract permits. Budget for archive operation and any residual costs.
The units in the field still need their history
Configured products stay in service long after the ERP that built them is gone. ArchiveHub keeps the order, configuration, job and serial history readable in SyteLine's own terms.
Questions about Infor SyteLine retirement
What does a historical serial-number lookup need?
Define the chain from serial number to the job, order and shipment, plus available quality documents. Use representative examples to verify each relationship and any missing evidence.
How should multi-site history be validated?
Preserve site identifiers and resolve collisions in reused document numbers. Reconcile the agreed reports by site and test whether users can access only their authorised records.
What does this ArchiveHub demonstration prove?
The screenshots illustrate how selected records can be presented using mock data. They do not prove production completeness, customer outcomes or parity with every Infor SyteLine report. Request a demonstration against your own approved scope and acceptance cases.

Fixed-price Infor SyteLine retirement engagement
ArchiveHub offers a fixed-price engagement for Infor SyteLine retirement and historical data access, based on an agreed scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria. Request a scoped proposal covering your source systems, data, documents, reporting and validation requirements.
